New issue of corporate abstract journal Laboratory Diagnostics of Infectious Diseases

A new issue of corporate abstract journal Laboratory Diagnostics of Infectious Diseases (No. 1-2018) has been published.

The digests of scientific publications, found on the pages of the new issue and devoted to the problems of detecting false positive results at serological testing of HIV, HCV and syphilis, include works of foreign and national researchers of different times. Summaries of some articles contain descriptions of some clinical observations and results of laboratory studies carried out using various methods and diagnostic products, analysis of causes for false positives and assessment of their significance, as well as suggestions and solutions of the authors of the articles to improving algorithms of diagnosis of the aforementioned infections to reduce false positives.

The section Quality Issues of Laboratory Tests mainly focuses on the possible errors and failures in operation of dosing devices (mechanical pipettes) used for laboratory tests, and on techniques to achieve the required accuracy and reproducibility of testing results and measurements.

The Editorial Board of our journal expresses its hope that the published materials will draw attention and arouse interest among a broader audience, including laboratory medicine specialists, clinicians of various fields and academic staff, and will be relevant to their professional occupation.
